‘Andrea’s salon’ on

28 February 2018 | by Andrea Frost

I am thrilled to announce that I am now a columnist for Jancis Robinson. Beginning today, I will be writing a regular column titled ‘Andrea’s salon’. The column, which will appear bimonthly on, is named after the famous French salons that rose to popularity during the Enlightenment in which women, mostly, held court in private residences while exchanging ideas about literature, philosophy, science and culture in furtherance of character and community alike.

It’s a great honour to be given a voice on such an esteemed platform and to be joining Jancis’s brilliant team of regular columnists and regional specialists including Julia Harding MW, Richard Hemming MW, Max Allen, Alder Yarrow, Nick Lander, Walter Speller and Tamlyn Currin, among others.

Following a very warm introduction from Jancis, my first column explains why I write about wine:

“It all came about five or more years ago when a confluence of personal and professional events found me at the precipice of what I was doing with my life and every single other thing in the entire universe.”

I look forward to seeing you all there.
